La Rive
In the category of the Amsterdam top-class restaurants the La Rive shunts hotel completely on top in the Amstel and
offers you high-carat palatal experiences. If not only the intimate, wooden-panelled restaurant of Meisterkoch
Edwin Kats grants a wonderful look about the Amstel by high French windows, it was also distinguished with two
Michelin stars: for the flawless service, the flawless presentation, the big wine choice and the excellent kitchen.

Excelsior
The Excelsior is the in-house restaurant of the hotel de l'Europe and as elegantly as the famous hotel. In the
ground floor conveniently the elegant dining room rises only something about the canal, which is why a reservation
one of the tables in the window is recommended. Chef Jean Jaques Menanteau was already distinguished with prices
and directs in the Excelsior since 1994. He has perfected his decadent menu in this time what becomes already clear
with the hors-d'oeuvres like oysters with Basque pepper and scallop shells with bourbon vanilla. The main courses
are as impressive: Rind-Tournedos and duck's liver with truffle and Madeira sauce or frying pan-deep-fried turbot
with Parmaschinken. Immoderate desserts enclose Soufflé with Grand Marnier and oranges or mango cannelloni with
champagne sorbet.

Ciel Bleu
Much higher than here "Haute cuisine" probably becomes not. And this lies not only with the situation on the 23rd
floor of the hotel of Okura, but also with two Michelin stars. Climaxes on the menu which changes approx. four
times yearly are so tasty courts like Marbré from Foie grass and braised calf's cheeks with chutney from Cévenne
onions or vanilla and sweetbread, sherry varnishes with "Pedro Ximénez". And this is only the beginning. The wine
choice completes the courts in ideal manner; the unusual service, the elegant equipment and the panoramic view
about the town makes this the ideal place for sundowns.

Italian Restaurants
Caruso
In a canal house immediately beside the known flower market the Caruso serves an interior which one would suppose,
actually, in a Venetian palace: with red velvet coated chairs, gigantic chandeliers and decorated covers with
golden decoration. Here you enjoy the Nuova Cucina and most Italian regions are represented. The delightful dishes
are prepared with a lot of Gusto and are served with almost operatic atmosphere.

Trend Spot
INEZ IPSC
The INEZ IPSC (Internationally private Social club) with his Spartan modern and colorful dining room is one of the
most announced restaurants in Amsterdam. The courts are very imaginative, examples are a grilled crawfish with
artichokes and spinach or lamb chop with chicory and Shitake. The INEZ is so trendy that even the word 'Coalescence
kitchen' is looked as passé. Instead, one describes the menu as 'an IMF' (Internationally Modern Freestyle). One
can order so many ways like one would like to enjoy (e.g., three hors-d'oeuvres and then a dessert) and, besides,
unique views of the town. For the billhooks and trendy this Hotspot is ideal in the city centre. The spectacular
view offers view of Munt and draws in particular artist, designer and gourmet equally.

Pont 13
Even if it lies not exactly in the centre of the town (to the west of the central station) this unique restaurant
the additional expenditure is worth for food as well as for the unique situation. It is accommodated on an old
ferry from 1927 which went formerly by the harbour. The ferry was renovated wonderfully. It is equipped with wooden
floors and an industrial ambience. One can enjoy on this spacious boat or in summer on his open-air terrace with
looks about the harbour great French kitchen and fine wines.

Christophe
Chef Jean-Joël Bonsens' dreamlike and exotic creations are a skilful combination of French cookery with US-American
and oriental influence, as for example cod with Chorizo, paprika and fennel or fried scallop shells with coconut,
avocado mousse and celery sauce, curry sauce and lime sauce. This lusciousness with Panache is served in an
elegant, ultramodern restaurant directly in the canal.
